Navigator Recruiting client is a local fast-growing progressive Fort Collins CPA firm of 40 employees. The partners are concerned for employees' well-being and the office is a fun place to come to work every day. The firm provides professional tax services, audit and accounting services, valuation consulting, cost segregation studies, education, bookkeeping and small business planning. The firm does offer a flexible environment but does expect this individual to come into the office on most days. There are challenging tax returns to prepare and review. The firm offers an excellent growth opportunity and a complete benefits package.

Tax Accountant Description:
This firm is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant who has an entrepreneurial spirit and knows how to get things done. The ideal candidate is someone who will be laser focused on execution for an optimized result. This person must be willing to consult internally and externally to solve problems and be motivated to think outside the box to find solutions. It is critical to be able to work well in a team environment and to be able to give and receive coaching

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C-corporations, S corporations, and partnerships
  • Completing complex tax research and planning projects for clients in diverse industries
  • Analyzing current/prior year returns to help identify future planning opportunities and potential issues
  • Stay aware of general business trends to professionally represent and apply this knowledge to the client solutions
  • Build the skills and knowledge that are necessary to become a Tax Manager
  • Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices
  • Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting with emphasis in taxation, preferably in a regional or national firm
  • CPA certification or CPA Candidate
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited college/university
  • Know how to how to build lasting relationships with clients, through which they can instill customer confidence as a trusted and crucial advisor;
  • Have strong communication skills, the emotional intelligence, and the professional voice needed to directly communicate with clients;
  • Proficient in tax research and interpretation of tax law and GAAP;
  • Understand general accounting and tax procedures;
  • Have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, taking direction from peers and supervisors.
