Navigator Recruiting client has been a well-established CPA firm in Boulder for 35 years - having been nominated as one of the best CPA firms to work for or do business with in Boulder on a regular basis and having a healthy stream of word-of-mouth/referred clients on a continual basis - is in succession planning and would like to hire a key leader with a path to becoming a Shareholder within a few years. This woman-owned firm has a very quiet, peaceful office and a supportive culture dedicated to the well-being of the team. The firm provides tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping and payroll, and advisory services to small business and individuals and is seeking a full-time Senior Tax Manager to be responsible for complex tax planning, preparation and review (preparation and review work may be split 50/50) and who is also interested in pursuing shareholder opportunities. Specifically, the firm is seeking someone with a great personality who excels at client service and can independently manage a substantial client list with various business and individual returns. The firm has low turnover and a strong group of core employees who’ve been with the firm for a long time and people work well together as a team. This is primarily an in-office position, though the firm does allow employees to work from home. The firm would like for the chosen individual to work in-office at least 3 days/week (and from home up to 2 days/week) during the non-busy season and in the office at least 4 days/week (and home up to 1 day/week) duing busy season. The firm is open to hiring someone with a specific specialization.

Responsibilities
- Professional management of compliance, planning and consulting for multiple clients
- Review and interpretation of financial records to determine any adjustments needed to prepare tax returns and compliance filing requirements
- Direct and timely and communication with clients to obtain additional information regarding their tax planning and compliance issues
- Successful research of tax laws and compliance on complicated issues relative to tax planning for our clients
- Preparation and review of tax returns in a timely and efficient manner
- Supervision, development and mentoring of fellow staff to assist with client needs and professional growth
- Promotion of the firm through occasional business-building activities
Requirements
- High levels of intelligence, integrity, honesty, motivation, and aptitude for the public accounting profession
- CPA license is required
- UltraTax and QuickBooks experience is helpful
- 8 – 10 years of experience and demonstrated ability in the preparation and review of income tax returns for individuals, fiduciary, non-profit organizations and small businesses
- Ability to acquire, develop, and retain clients
- Resourcefulness and willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects
- Ability to exercise good judgment, be a team player and be proactive
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for service
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle stressful situations professionally and effectively
- Ability to adhere to security procedures in handling confidential and sensitive information at all times
