Company Information
Navigator Recruiting client is a fast-paced, growing, international, stable $150M manufacturer and distributor in the video/broadband industry headquartered in the south Denver Metro area, in Centennial, CO. The company’s senior leadership team has been together for many years (most of them having left a large successful enterprise to start this company in 2008). The firm's culture has an informal "family-feel." There is excellent tenure amongst employees. Employees are respected and responsible self-starters. Micro-managing and meetings for the sake of having meetings do not exist here. In 18 years, this client has steadily grown from 5 employees to 35. The lean Accounting & Finance Department is currently made up of four individuals, all with excellent tenure with the company. The CFO, whom this role will report to, is a company founder and has been with the company for 18 years. The current Accounting Clerk - who has been with the firm for 16 years (and was Employee #3 or #4) is retiring and the CFO would like to hire someone now to replace the Accounting Clerk and work with this person to be trained properly before the person retires. The is a permanent full-time salaried position (Monday - Friday in office from roughly 8:00 am - 4:00 pm) with full benefits. There is also a yearly bonus of up to 10% of your salary, The bonus is based on company and individual performance. The company strives for work/life balance for its employees.
Responsibilities
The position will be responsible for:
- Invoicing (10/day; low volume / high dollar transactions) for customers
- Accounts payable
- Make all payments to banks and wire transfers
- Manage/tracking overdue accounts receivables (communicating/advising sales team when a payment is late; unlikely need for collections)
- Performing routine journal entries
- Managing company expense reports for Travel & Entertainment expenses
- Assisting/helping coordinate company audit
- Coordinate/communicate w/3rd party HR vendor regarding payroll processing
- Some light office tasks like managing/coordinating the cleaning crew, ordering coffee, etc.
- As this position is stationed at the front desk of the company, the Accounting Clerk would be responsible for assisting the infrequent visitor who needs to enter the building.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or a related field preferred but not required
- 10+ years’ experience in invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and making routing journal entries
- Intermediate MS Excel experience (creating spreadsheets)
- ERP system experience required (Cloud-based Sage X3 is helpful but not required)
- Exposure to payroll is helpful but not required
- “All hands-on deck” attitude required (as no one is too “important” to do any task at this company)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Must be happy to work in a small group and be self-motivated (will not be micro-managed)
