Company Information
Navigator Recruiting client is a local woman-owned small CPA firm in Longmont, CO, and has experienced consistent growth in the past 10 years. The firm completes tax returns for many S Corporations and Partnerships and Individuals. The firm also provides payroll processing and bookkeeping work for clients. Most clients are in a variety of industries and are small businesses with less than $5M in annual revenues. A key visible role in the small firm, this unique position incorporates tax and accounting and the opportunity to help small businesses in a number of different ways. There is also an opportunity to become a shareholder. You'd report to the owner and be given the responsibility to manage and grow the relationships of many CPA firm clients. This entails reviewing the work of the Bookkeeping team and preparing some financial statements but will mainly involve preparing all tax returns for the clients and advising clients (on buy-outs, retirement, etc.). Accounting (and in particular experience with QuickBooks) and tax knowledge are critical. The owner can and will train the chosen individual on some of the advisory services. This firm takes pride in providing excellent service to clients and communicating with clients is very important. This is a salaried role and hours during busy season are typically 50-60 hours/wk. and hours in the summer/non-busy season are typically 32 hours/week. The firm is closed on Fridays in the summer, so the chosen individual would have 12+ three-days weekends in the summer. For the year, one is likely to work roughly 2080 hours in total. The chosen individual will work in-office 2+ days/wk. during the summer/non-busy season and the rest of the days from home. During busy season, the chosen individual will work 4+ days in the office and 1-2 days from home. The owner does not believe in working 7 days straight without a day off. Communicating with clients and providing excellent customer service is key. Benefits include a monthly healthcare stipdend (to cover the cost of the employee's medical insurance), 401k + a match up to 4%, AD&D insurance, vacation, holidays, and a wonderful supportive environment.
