Company Information
Navigator Recruiting client is a well-respected and growing 12 employee locally owned progressive CPA firm in Boulder, CO, which has tripled in size in the 18 years since this Principal has owned the firm. Most clients are in a variety of industries and are small businesses with less than $5M in annual revenues. Communicating with clients and providing excellent customer service is key. This firm would like to hire this individual on a full-time 40 hours/week basis and a complete benefits package is offered. The chosen individual will work in the office most of the time but does have the flexibility to work from home on occasion. A full benefits package and a GREAT! working environment with an understanding and respectful owner are offered. Bonuses are offered. Also, as one grows in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to start earning a commission – in addition to your hourly rate – based on a percentage of what you’re billing. If the chosen candidate has skills and experience preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, that is considered a plus. Here are all the services this firm provides: tax planning, tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, business consulting (w/entity selection, succession planning, acquisitions/dispositions, computer systems), cash flow/budget analysis, valuations, sales tax services, reviews & compilations and retirement planning.
Providing financial information to clients in a timely and accurate manner is a commitment that this firm feels cannot be compromised. The firm feels meaningful, well-organized financial records ensure that client’s business operations will run more efficiently. The chosen candidate will work on a team with 4 other Bookkeepers and report directly to the Principal, although there are an additional 3 Supervisors in the Accounting Services department (besides the Principal) who will mentor, train and provide guidance. The chosen candidate will be responsible for:
  • Daily, monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping for a variety of clients and mainly using QuickBooks Online (a few clients require QuickBooks Desktop).
  • General ledger & financial statement preparation
  • Computerized payroll services
  • Ideally, the chosen individual will have some experience in or exposure to accounting system setup for new businesses and/or Individual or Business tax return preparation (Sales & Use/Business Property)
  • 2+ years’ general ledger full-charge accounting/bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks Online
  • QuickBooks Desktop experience is also ideal but less critical
  • Enrolled Agent (E.A.) certification is a plus but not required
  • Prior experience working in a public accounting environment is helpful
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree is not required but helpful
  • Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in a technology environment
  • Excellent leadership capabilities
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and willingness to take initiative
  • Ability to meet challenging client requirements and provide quality service
  • Utilize analytical and research abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strict adherence to professional ethics
  • Ability to successfully contribute to the success of a strategic business unit of the firm
  • It’s also helpful if the chosen individual has the ability to be self-reliant and to ask questions. People are available to help but there’s not a lot of "hand-holding" and a fair amount of independence given to employees.
